Coatings

4,000 hours of salt spray, in a climate that asks for it.

Bright zinc gives up long before a Gulf roof or a coastal substation does. CISER's Nanotec programme is the part of its engineering that matters most here — ceramic-film and organometallic systems tested to ASTM B117 and DIN 50018, hexavalent-chromium free and compliant with RoHS and REACH.

How far each system goes

Hours to the first red corrosion — the point at which the steel itself, not the coating, has started to go. Every figure below is CISER's own published test result.

The systems

What each one is for

Zinc electroplateGeneral and protected applications; clear, blue, yellow or black passivation.
Hot-dip galvanisedStructural steelwork, towers and external assemblies with long design life.
NanotecCeramic-film top coat. Base coat + 1 layer: 240 h to white corrosion, 2,000 h to red. White goods, automotive, aeronautics, civil construction.
Nanotec 3,000Zinc or zinc-alloy base with two sealant layers: 400 h white, 3,000 h+ red. Clear and black versions.
Nanotec AluminiumNanoparticles limit galvanic attack where the fastener meets aluminium. Two layers: 4,000 h to red corrosion.
NanoGeoOrganometallic coating with a harder protective film. NanoGeo + Nanotec layer: 4,000 h. Wind energy, automotive, civil construction.
NanoInox 410Organo-ceramic top coat with stainless microparticles — CISER rates it 70% beyond 410 stainless. 1,500 h to red corrosion.
Nanotec 10K1,500 h free of red corrosion to ASTM B117 and 10 Kesternich cycles to DIN 50018. Hexavalent-chromium free, RoHS and REACH compliant. M6 / ¼″ upward.
Stainless & brassA2 (304), A4 (316) and 410 stainless, plus brass, where the material itself is the corrosion answer.

Selection

Choose by the exposure, not by the price list

Coastal & humid

Jebel Ali, Dammam, Sohar — salt-laden air all year. Nanotec 3,000, NanoGeo or hot-dip galvanising; A4 stainless where the fixing is permanently wet.

Against aluminium

Solar rails, curtain wall, cladding. Nanotec Aluminium uses nanoparticles to limit the galvanic couple between fastener and frame.

Chemical & industrial

Plants, fertiliser handling, waste water. Nanotec 10K is built for chemical attack: 1,500 h to ASTM B117 and 10 Kesternich cycles.

Instead of stainless

NanoInox 410 carries stainless microparticles and is rated by CISER at 70% beyond 410 stainless — a cost step down in low to medium corrosion.

High-tensile parts

Zinc-flake and organometallic systems avoid the hydrogen embrittlement risk that electroplating carries on 10.9 and 12.9 fasteners.

Indoor & protected

Zinc electroplate with clear, blue, yellow or black passivation — the economical answer where the environment is dry.
